Grant Stokes
most recently played Michael in EP Theatre's production of GREY, a play he co-conceived and co-wrote with Garrett Prejean.  GREY is slated to receive its Los Angeles premiere directed by Daniel Friedman in 2007.  Before GREY, Grant played Joe JOHNNY GOT HIS GUN at 520 Western Theatre in Los Angeles and Father Toby in ACCESS PROJECT at Victory Gardens Theatre in Chicago.  Some of his favorite roles with Trittico Theatre Company, Performance Network, and other regional theaters include: Stephen in OLD WICKED SONGS, Gerard in SIN, Wilfred Owen in NOT ABOUT HEROES, T.S. Eliot in TOM & VIV, Joe in ANGELS IN AMERICA, Christy in PLAYBOY OF THE WESTERN WORLD, Kevin in BODIES OF LIGHT, Bobby in LOVE! VALOUR! COMPASSION!, Estragon in WAITING FOR GODOT, Brian in PARTY, Jesse in MENSCH, Eliot in OH HAPPY DAY, Valmont in LIAISONS DANGEREUSE, and Colin in OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH.  His TV and Film credits include a co-starring role on ER and Edward in the independent film THE HAPPY COUPLE directed by Kevin Welch. 

Grant holds a M.A. in Voice and an M.F.A. in Acting, and is a proud member of SAG, AEA and AGMA.  He trained with Uta Hagen of HB Studio, Jane Alderman, Robert Brueler, and the Royal Shakespeare Company. 

Assistant director of more than a dozen productions with Michigan Opera Theatre, Grant has also: assistant directed at Opera Pacific in California (where he also served as a director of the apprentice program); assisted Peter Sparling and Martin Katz on the production of ORFEO at The University Musical Society; and directed SPIKE HEELS for Performance Network in Ann Arbor Michigan.  And while all of this is great, he really misses his horse, Billy the Kid.
