Eileen Vorbach is an actor, director and acting instructor. She has been happily teaching the Meisner technique and coaching actors in Chicago for over twenty years. Most recently she has been working with student film directors at Columbia College to help them understand and better work with actors. Eileen is the cofounder of WOMANLORE, Performing Women in History, where she has directed Memoirs of a Desert Queen, March of the Mill Children and Fish and Fetish. With The Heroic Bard, she has directed Don Quixote of La Mancha, Sir Gwain and the Green Knight, and Dante's New Life. Eileen directed and coproduced Martin and John which won a Fringe First Award at the Edinburgh Festival and later ran at The Bush Theater in London. As an actor, Eileen won a Jeff Citation for Performance for the Role of Jean in Skirmishes. Other productions include: Marie and Bruce/Parallax Theater, Top Girls/Actors Rep, Grownups/National Jewish Theater, Wisdom Bridge/St. Nicholas Theater, Organic Theater Co. and others she just can't remember.
