Jenny Knuepfer
has been working for Grossman & Jack Talent Agency in Chicago for
three years, working on projects in television, film, commercial,
industrial, and commercial print, as well as theatre. She holds a BFA
in Theatre Performance Studies with a Concentration in Playwriting and
Management/Casting the University of Illinois, Champaign-Urbana. While
much of her time in school was spent acting and directing, she
developed her passion for the casting process as the Goodman Theatre's
Casting Intern in the summer of 2002. While in Champaign she directed
& produced an original rock musical at the Armory Theatre for which
she wrote the book, music, and lyrics and accompanied on piano. After a
brief stint teaching acting classes to teens and children at a Chicago
acting school and as a musical director for an elementary school, she
began working at Grossman & Jack.
Besides keeping busy in
the agenting world, Jenny is also a singer/songwriter and performs
monthly at local venues. She is delighted to be teaching actors how to
“get into the biz" with this seminar at Act One Studios.
Nell Wasserstrom Upon receiving her B.F.A
in Theatre Studies, with a focus in Management and Casting, from the
University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana, Nell Wasserstrom
began working as an assistant with Grossman & Jack Talent She
became a licensed agent in the fall of '06, and is thrilled to be a
permanent member of the Grossman-Jack family. Prior to working with the
agency, she had the pleasure of interning with Tenner, Paskal, and
Rudnicke Casting, where she assisted on such films as 'The Break-Up'
and 'Stranger Than Fiction." Today her work includes projects for
television, film, commercial, industrial, commercial print, and theatre.

Steve Scott most recently directed "Mirandolina"
at the Noble Fool Theatre and "Wit" at the Goodman Theatre (After Dark
Award for Outstanding Direction). Other recent directing credits
include "Childe Byron" and "The Eccentricities of a Nightingale" for
the Eclipse Theatre, the world premiere of "The Gambit" at the Theatre
Building, "Fit to be Tied" for Frump Tucker Theatre Company, "Class
Enemy" for Red Hen Productions, "The Time of Your Life" and "Picnic"
for Roosevelt University (where he is a faculty member), "Love!
Valour!Compassion!" and "After Play" for Organic Touchstone, and
"Orphans" for CT20 Ensemble (Jeff Citation Nomination). Steve is even
an award winning actor, in the Next Theatre's production of "Are You
Now or Have You Ever Been...?" (Jeff Award for Outstanding Ensemble).
Since 1987, he has been Associate Producer at the Goodman Theatre,
where he has overseen over 90 productions; other Goodman directing
credits include the world premiere of Tom Mula's "Jacob Marley's
Christmas Carol," the 1989 through 1992 productions of "A Christmas
Carol," and "A Midsummer Night's Dream," which he co-directed with
Michael Maggio. Additional credits include "Rough for Theatre #1" for
Splinter Group's "Buckets O' Beckett" Festival, "Club Soda" at the
National Jewish Theatre, "Talking AIDS to Death" at Lifeline Theatre,
"Die Fledermaus" for the Lyric Opera Center for American Artists, and
"A Change in the Heir" and "Nightingale" (Jeff Citation nomination) for
New Tuners Theatre.
Mr. Scott has served on advisory panels
for the Chicago Office of Fine Arts, the Illinois Arts Council, and the
National Endowment for the Arts, and currently serves as an NEA site
evaluator and a member of the Jeff Committee's Artistic and Technical
Team. He is an artistic associate of the About Face Theatre, a member
of the Eclipse Theatre ensemble, and one of five resident directors for
WBEZ's Stories on Stage. Mr. Scott is also a faculty member at Columbia
College, and received the Award of Honor from the Illinois Theatre

Oksana has been a working actress for over 20 Oksana has been a working actress for over 20 years. She started
in Chicago theatre and moved on to doing lead Shakespearean women, such
as Ophelia, Helena and Mistress Ford at American Player's Theatre in
Wisconsin. Oksana has appeared in Chicago with Remains Theatre in "Mad
Forest", at Halsted Theatre Centre in "Lips Together, Teeth Apart" and
lead roles in "Woman in Mind", "Blythe Spirit" and "The Importance of
Being Ernest". Oksana then moved on to do feature films, commercials,
industrials and voiceover. Some film and TV credits include The
Fugitive, My Life, The Package and most recently Early Edition, Cupid,
Turks and the British made-for-TV film March in the Windy City, as well
as leads in the independent films, The Best Man, Charming Billy and
Dreamers . You've heard her voice on the radio and she also teaches
Film, TV and Commercial acting at Roosevelt University. She recently
came back to theatre in the starring role of Muriel in "Tiny Island" at
The Next Theatre in Evanston. And for the past several years she served

Come ready to play for this demonstration! Williamson movement was developed to help open actors to their own impulses and free their bodies and emotions. The Williamson class will meet on Wednesdays from 6:30-9:30 (see Movement). Laura
Sturm teaches in the Meisner program here at Act One Studios. She has
been working as a professional actor in Chicago since 1994 with such
theatres as Signal Ensemble Theatre, Bailiwick Repertory, Remy Bumppo,
Raven Theatre, SummerNite Theatre, Apple Tree TYA, and Breadline
Theatre, as well as a stint in Texas with the Texas Shakespeare
Festival. Favorite local roles include Mrs. Hardcastle in She Stoops to
Conquer, a bloody, goth Medea in The Chorus Rebellion, Imogen in
Cymbeline, Alma in The Christmas Schooner, and Emily in Israel
Horovitz' Alfred the Great.
Laura also directs and serves as an
acting and movement coach in the area. She recently directed the world
premiere of the musical Tuxedo Love for Theatre 5.2.1.
Laura
received her MFA in Acting at Northern Illinois University, where she
studied the Meisner Technique under Kathryn Gately (who studied under
Sanford Meisner at the Neighborhood Playhouse) and Williamson Movement
with Deborah Robertson (who studied under Loyd Williamson at The Actors
Movement Studio in NYC). In 2002, Laura spent part of the summer in
Gardzienice, Poland studying at the Staniewski Center for Theater

Deborah is a professional actor, director and founder of the Lawrence Shakespeare Festival and Ottawa Lunchbox Theatre. She works extensively to help actors understand the language of Shakespeare, working with a variety of methodologies to create dynamic characters and to find the essential tools actors need to play the part.
